Adults 18+ only
Trana is designed for adults. The age limit is shown clearly before use and built into the onboarding flow. We do not knowingly collect information from under-18s.
Trana is an emotional wellbeing companion for adults. It offers private conversation, calming tools, journaling, check-ins, community features, and crisis signposting — while being transparent about what an app can and cannot do.
Safety in the app
Safety should feel easy to understand: age limits, product boundaries, privacy choices, and visible routes to outside help — all kept close.
Trana is designed for adults. The age limit is shown clearly before use and built into the onboarding flow. We do not knowingly collect information from under-18s.
Trana is wellbeing support, not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, clinical monitoring, treatment, or emergency care. This boundary is visible on every page and screen.
Red Mode, safety planning, trusted contacts, and international crisis hotline links are never locked behind a subscription. They are always one tap away.
Anonymous community spaces include reporting, muting, and blocking tools. Safety prompts appear when support may be needed. Moderation is active.
Red Mode
Red Mode is Trana's dedicated space for acute distress — when you need support quickly and don't have the capacity to search through menus. It's accessible from any screen, with one tap, at any time.
It is always free. No subscription required.
Personal safety plan
A personal safety plan makes it easier to navigate a difficult moment before it becomes a crisis. Trana's safety plan has five sections, all editable, all private.
Warning signs
The thoughts, feelings, or situations that tell you things are getting harder.
Helpful actions
Things that have helped before: a walk, a distraction, a breathing exercise, a call.
Safe places
Physical places where you feel calmer or safer.
Trusted people
People you can contact, and what you might say to them.
Crisis resources
Hotlines, text lines, and emergency services — pre-loaded and editable.
Always free to create and update
Safety plan access is never locked behind a subscription tier.
Crisis resources
Trana can help you find outside support — but it is not the crisis service itself. Below are the resources shown inside the app, all free, all available without a subscription.

AI transparency
Trana uses AI to generate supportive responses and suggest tools. Being honest about AI's limits is part of how we keep the app safe.
Privacy commitments
Under UK and EU law, mood data, journal content, and health-related information may be classified as special category data. We treat it accordingly.
| What we collect | Why we need it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Mood and stress check-ins | Weekly pattern insights and reflections | Kept while account is active, or until you delete |
| Journal entries | Private reflection — visible only to you | Until you delete each entry or close your account |
| AI conversations | Continuity and tool suggestions within sessions | Kept while account is active; export or delete in Settings |
| Safety plan and contacts | Your personal safety plan and trusted contacts | Until you edit, remove, or close your account |
| Community posts | Calm Garden and Daily Prompts content | Until deleted; anonymized aggregate data may be retained for safety analysis |
| Account and profile | Authentication, sync, and preferences | While account is active; full deletion available in Settings |
Your data rights
Depending on your location, you have rights under UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or other applicable data protection laws. To exercise these rights, use the in-app controls in Settings, or contact us at support@trana.live
Most actions (export, deletion, consent withdrawal) are available directly in the app under Profile → Settings, without needing to contact support.
Summary
If someone is in immediate danger, Trana points them toward local emergency support and real people first. The app's job is to lower the barrier to one calmer next step — not to replace the professional help that some moments need.
Red Mode, safety planning, trusted contacts, and crisis resources are always one tap away.
Export, deletion, optional permissions, and account controls are always in Settings.
Trana is designed for adults 18+ and keeps that boundary visible at every entry point.
