Trana is designed as an emotional wellbeing companion for adults. It gives gentle tools, AI support, journaling, check-ins, community features, and crisis signposting while staying explicit about what an app can and cannot do.
What Trana is not
Trana cannot replace a therapist, doctor, counsellor, psychiatrist, prescribed medication, or local emergency service.
Trana does not diagnose conditions or decide whether a user is safe.
Trana is not built for under-18 users.
For crisis or immediate danger, real people and local emergency services come first.

Clear wellbeing boundary
The app states that Trana is supportive wellbeing software, not medical advice, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, a medical device, or emergency care.
SOS and Red Mode
Urgent pathways include grounding, Stop the Spiral, Body Reset, outside help, safety planning, and country-aware crisis resources.
Community safety
Community features include moderated sharing, crisis-resource prompts, and user controls such as report, mute, and block.
Crisis resources are direct, not decorative.
Trana includes country-aware crisis resources and an international fallback. The app can help a user find options, but it is not the crisis service itself.
United States: 988, Crisis Text Line, SAMHSA, and emergency services.
United Kingdom: Samaritans, Shout, NHS urgent mental health support, and emergency services.
Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, Germany, France, and international fallback directories.
If someone is in immediate physical danger, Trana tells them to contact local emergency services.
Privacy choices are part of safety.
The iOS privacy policy is written around the data the app actually asks for: mood check-ins, journals, conversations, community activity, device permissions, and account settings.
No sale of personal information.
Personal data is not used to train AI models.
Trana does not store raw voice recordings as account history.
Users can export data and initiate account deletion from Trana Settings.
Microphone, speech recognition, notifications, camera/photo, and biometrics stay controlled by iOS permissions.
