Terms of Service

These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your use of the Trana iOS application, mobile API, and related services ("Trana" or the "App"). Trana is operated by CybeForge ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, subscribing to, or using Trana, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
Trana is intended for adults aged 18 and older. By using Trana, you confirm that you are at least 18 and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Wellbeing and Safety Disclaimer
Trana is an AI-supported wellbeing companion for stress, anxious moments, journaling, coping tools, community support, safety planning, and self-reflection. Trana is not a medical device, therapy service, emergency service, suicide prevention service, crisis intervention service, or replacement for professional care.
Trana does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, clinical monitoring, or regulated healthcare. If you may harm yourself or someone else, are in immediate danger, or need urgent help, call local emergency services or a crisis hotline now.
Trusted-contact SMS, support-circle activity, community alerts, reminders, and AI safety routing are supportive features only. Delivery can fail or be delayed, and they are not a substitute for emergency services or human professional support.
3. AI Features
Trana uses AI systems to generate supportive responses, summaries, safety routing, moderation assistance, tool suggestions, journal reflections, roleplay turns, sleepcast prompts, and other wellbeing content. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, delayed, or unsuitable for your circumstances. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to act on any output. Do not rely on Trana as your only source of support or guidance.
4. Apple Acknowledgement
These Terms are between you and CybeForge, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We are solely responsible for Trana and its content, subject to these Terms. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Trana, except as required by applicable law.
5. Scope of Licence
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Trana on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and the App Store Usage Rules. Where Apple permits Family Sharing, volume purchasing, or similar access, those Apple rules also apply.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, scrape, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from Trana, except where applicable law prevents us from restricting that activity.
6. Free Tier and Trana Plus
Trana can be downloaded for free and used with limited functionality. Current free controls may include daily AI talk-turn limits, limited structured tool sessions, limited text-to-speech turns, recent history limits, and weekly journal-entry limits. Safety-critical tools such as crisis resources, safety planning, trusted-contact access, and grounding support are not intentionally paywalled.
Trana Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks higher or expanded usage limits and Plus features such as longer history, additional AI-assisted reflections, expanded memory/personalisation features, and premium guided content where available. Features and limits may change as Trana improves, but we will not intentionally remove paid access without reasonable notice where required by law.
7. App Store Subscriptions and Trials
- iOS subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID.
- Available products may include Trana Plus Monthly and Trana Plus Annual.
- Prices, trial availability, taxes, currency, billing period, and renewal terms are shown in Apple's purchase sheet before you confirm purchase and may vary by country or region.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.
- Deleting the Trana app or deleting your Trana account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.
- If Apple offers you a free trial or introductory offer, unused trial time may be forfeited when you purchase or change a subscription, depending on Apple's rules.
- Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
8. Accounts, Export, and Deletion
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for the content you add to Trana. Trana supports guest use for limited access and account-based use through supported authentication methods. You do not need to create a Trana account to buy, restore, or use an Apple App Store subscription on the device where Apple makes that entitlement available. Creating or signing in to a Trana account is optional and helps sync check-ins, insights, settings, app content, and eligible purchases across your supported devices.
You can export your data and initiate account deletion from Trana Settings. Account deletion removes your Trana account data from active app databases, except where limited records must be retained for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, safety, moderation, backup, or security reasons. Deleting your Trana account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage App Store subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.
9. Privacy, Data Protection, and Sensitive Information
Your use of Trana is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, why we use it, service providers we use, retention, international transfers, security, export, deletion, and your privacy rights. Those rights may include GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA rights depending on where you live.
Trana may process wellbeing, mental-health, clinical-assessment, safety-plan, crisis, journal, AI conversation, community, and trusted-contact information that you choose to provide. This information may be sensitive personal information and, under UK/EU law, special category data. Where law requires consent or explicit consent for a feature, you provide that consent by choosing to submit the relevant information for Trana to process for the requested feature and related safety, moderation, export, deletion, support, and compliance workflows.
You can control optional permissions such as notifications, microphone, speech recognition, camera, photos, and biometrics through iOS Settings and in-app controls where available. If you provide contact details or personal information about someone else, including a trusted safety contact, you confirm that you have permission to do so. Nothing in these Terms limits privacy, consumer, or data-protection rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
10. Community, Profile, and User Content
Trana includes social and community features such as Support Circle, Calm Garden, Daily Prompts, reactions, hugs, reports, mutes, blocks, and community notifications. You are responsible for the content you submit, including profile photos, usernames, community posts, prompt responses, and messages you choose to send to trusted contacts.
Some community features are designed to show content without displaying your account identity to other users, but this is not a promise that no one can infer your identity. Avoid posting identifying, confidential, medical, financial, or highly sensitive information in community spaces. We may review, moderate, restrict, remove, retain, or report content where needed to protect users, operate the service, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
You keep ownership of content you submit, but you grant CybeForge a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, transmit, moderate, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate Trana for you and other users. Deleted-account community content may remain in identity-hidden or de-identified form where the feature is designed that way or where retention is needed for safety, legal, security, or moderation reasons.
11. Safety Contacts, SMS, and Notifications
If you add trusted safety contacts, you confirm that you have permission to store and use their contact details for Trana safety features. If you choose to send a trusted-contact SMS, you are responsible for the message text and for using the feature lawfully and respectfully. SMS and push notifications may be delayed, blocked, unavailable, or delivered to the wrong person if contact details or device settings are incorrect.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Trana to create, encourage, or coordinate harmful, abusive, exploitative, fraudulent, or illegal activity.
- Use Trana as an emergency response system or to delay urgent professional help.
- Attempt to bypass safety features, rate limits, authentication, payment systems, entitlement checks, or technical protections.
- Upload or submit content that infringes another person's rights, privacy, safety, or consent.
- Harass, shame, threaten, impersonate, dox, spam, scrape, or manipulate other users or community features.
- Use profile photos, usernames, community posts, or trusted-contact messages to mislead, exploit, or harm another person.
- Interfere with Trana's infrastructure, security, availability, or App Store review process.
13. Third-Party Services and Terms
Trana relies on third-party services for authentication, backend storage, AI features, vector search, profile photo storage, trusted-contact SMS, subscriptions, notifications, analytics, diagnostics, speech, and operating-system permissions. These providers currently include or may include Clerk, Convex, Mistral AI, Qdrant, CAMB.AI, Cloudinary, Telnyx, OneSignal, Apple, Stripe, PostHog, Sentry, Cloudflare R2, and similar infrastructure providers. Your use of Apple services, including the App Store, Apple ID, StoreKit, notifications, photo-library, camera, and iOS speech or microphone features, is also subject to Apple's terms and settings.
14. Intellectual Property
Trana's software, design, text, graphics, mascot, audio assets, brand, workflows, and other materials are owned by CybeForge or its licensors. You keep ownership of the content you submit, but you grant us the rights needed to operate Trana for you, including processing your content to provide AI responses, journaling, insights, memory, safety, and account features.
If a third party claims that Trana or your use of Trana infringes intellectual property rights, CybeForge, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.
15. Maintenance, Support, Product Claims, and Warranty
CybeForge is responsible for App maintenance and support as described in these Terms or required by applicable law. Trana is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not promise that Trana will be uninterrupted, error-free, medically accurate, or suitable for every user.
If Trana fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the App where applicable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Trana. CybeForge, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to Trana or your possession and use of Trana, including product liability claims, legal or regulatory claims, and consumer-protection claims.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CybeForge is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
17. Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country or region subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with applicable local laws when using Trana.
18. Changes and Availability
We may update Trana, change features, suspend features, or discontinue parts of the service. We may also update these Terms. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the App, website, App Store listing, or another appropriate channel.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where consumer law in your country or region gives you mandatory rights that cannot be waived.
20. Apple Third-Party Beneficiary
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
